You can use Special Purpose Pricing to target Specific Items - Parts and Labor. This allows for very detailed control over company margins. You can compensate for extra overhead for parts or certified labor, or you can decrease your price, as for inventory clearance.

Parts:

On the Parts General Tab you can enter a Parts Markup to be used for sales for an individual Part. This will take effect on any Work Orders using this Part.

However, Customer Pricing would override this setting, because arrangements for particular Customers override general Company margins. (See Rules of Pricing.)

There are quite a few variations provided by the Parts Markup:

When you enter the special Parts Markup directly on the Parts General Tab, it will refer to other values for that particular Part.

Once you create a special Parts Markup you can apply it to one or more individual Parts. Refer to Modify Bulk Parts for help in modifying a group of Parts.

Labor:

On an individual Employee Details Tab you can enter a Labor Rate to be used for billing sales of Labor. This will take effect on any Work Orders using this Employee for jobs.

However, Customer Pricing would override this setting, because arrangements for particular Customers override general Company margins. (See Rules of Pricing.)

There are quite a few variations provided by the Labor Rate:

When you enter the special Labor Rate directly on the Employee Details Tab, if you use the Tech Rate Markup, this will refer to this Employee's Pay Rate (Company cost for Employee).
